1995 The Australian journey began in 1995 when co-founders Nabi Saleh and Peter Irvine brought the Gloria Jean’s Coffees brand to Australia from the US, with the aim of providing Australians with high quality specialty coffee.

1996 The first Gloria Jean’s Coffees store was opened in Miranda, Sydney with the second store closely following in Eastgardens, Sydney. These concept stores became the testing ground for the future model of Gloria Jean’s Coffees stores nationally and internationally.

1997 The Gloria Jean’s Coffees franchise system was born in 1997 – with Eastgardens and Miranda becoming the first franchised stores.

2003 Gloria Jean’s Coffees is now present in every state and territory.

2004 Gloria Jean’s Coffees is now Australian owned, after the company buys the international brand rights from the US (for all countries out of the USA and Puerto Rico).

2008 Gloria Jean’s Coffees has now opened over 900 stores and signed 35 Master Franchise Agreements across 34 countries worldwide and there are over 470 stores are located in Australia. Today, Gloria Jean’s Coffees serves more than 7 million coffees per month in Australia, with over 102 million guests visiting each year to enjoy their favourite beverage
